Compare GE vs Leviton Appliance Modules

Today we are going to look at the GE 12719 Plug In Appliance Module and see how it compares with the Leviton Plug In Appliance Module.

We reviewed the Leviton Smart Switch Plug-in Module in this video (https://youtu.be/OQwZWsK4vhA?list=PLA0SI_d5t1c6FOFVJM0FqxlX_hnM701eT). We will compare the features and attributes of both modules as we are looking for a solution to remotely control an in-wall A/C unit.

Differences between the two switches is the size (the GE is much bigger), and the orientation of the receptacles. In my situation, this plays a big factor in my ability to use the GE plug for the intended purpose. The GE switch does have a convenient manual control switch on the front, while the Leviton does not. Which is a shame since I want the manual control in this particular case.

Also in the video you will find step-by-step instructions to add the GE switch to the Wink Hub.
